A village craft fair organised by the Hospice care group. It was a succesful little craft show and i enjoyed making the things to exhibit and show.
A delightful project that i have recently completed, was a sign post for a shop in Exeter. I could not have wished for better weather for fitting!
The Christmas Market in Ottery st Mary was a joy to be at. A really festive affair with mulled wine and mince pies. I made and sold pokers, chestnut roasters, toasting forks, letter openers and lily candlesticks to name a few ! I am looking forward to the next years show!
Another project was restoring Ottery St. Mary church gates.
It is fascinating to look at them and wonder who made the gates, how they were put together, and the techniques they used.

As I have mentioned before, The Secret Garden in Ottery St Mary is a fantastic place to have a workshop/experience day.
On this occasion the children made copper spoons with mild steel handles, brass rivets and copper dishes.
They have learnt so much from the previous workshops, and throughly enjoyed this little project.

At this workshop, we made copper bangles, luggage and dog tags.
The children loved using the engraving pen on the copper, and they came up with so many different designs and pictures.
The children and I stamped their names on to copper tags using a set of metal letter stamps, which then they hammered and textured and bent around the anvil to fit their wrists .

At this workshop we made copper leaves. I prepared leaf blanks and templates which were then heated, hammered and chiseled to give them veins, then curled to make them look like leaves.
We made them so that each leaf could be worn as a necklace. Everyone had such a nice time and wanted to make more!

This workshop experience catered for children aged 4-14 at The Secret Garden in Ottery St Mary, Devon.
The children made little copper bracelets and pendants out of copper wire: they heated, hammered and twisted a length of copper to produce - unique to each child - a beautiful bracelet.
